(SOGECO) – SOGECO, a Bolloré Transport & Logistics partner, is to participate in the 6th edition of Mauritanides, the largest conference in the region on mining, oil & gas and renewable energies, which will take place in Nouakchott from 22 to 24 November 2022. At the conference, SOGECO Chairman Sid Ahmed Abeidna will speak on three occasions to discuss solutions to improve Mauritania’s mineral and energy resources as well as the local recruitment strategy implemented by SOGECO to support the development of its activities in the country.
Mauritanides is a key event that brings together all the players in the mining, hydrocarbon and renewable energy industries. More than 2,000 participants are expected at this new edition, and 100 exhibitors will be in attendance to present their expertise and their solutions dedicated to the sector.
SOGECO has been established in Mauritania since 1972, where it has developed a wide range of logistics services offering its local and international customers end-to-end solutions and tailor-made services in various sectors: primarily energy (oil & gas) and mining, but also agricultural raw materials, food products and humanitarian aid.
The company distinguished itself in 2021 by winning a major logistics contract as part of the Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project. The SOGECO teams’ responsibilities include setting up a logistics base for the storage and transportation of tubular goods and oversized offshore structures (15 Nov 2021). More than 180,000 tonnes of cargo will be transported to support the development of the gas field platform.
