Rand shrinks from the brink as dollar weakens

The rand has staged a strong comeback against the dollar this week, after months of underperformance, which culminated in the currency touching a record low of nearly R20/$ last week. 

Its strength was reflected not only against the dollar, but also the pound and euro and it stood out among its emerging market peers…
