Kakenya’s Dream is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the Director of Programs in ensuring the successful execution of Kakenya’s Dream programs including but not limited to the Centers for Excellence, Network for Excellence, and Health & Leadership. This position will be fully based in our field office located in Isampin, Transmara West, Narok County and reports to the Director of Programs.
Program Leadership and Management
- Support in ensuring that the programs operate within the policies and procedures of the organization.
- Partner with school heads and teachers to achieve organizational objectives.
Program Quality
- Support in ensuring each designated project has a clear plan for execution
- Support in ensuring each program officer is able to fully understand the outcomes of the program/project and the targets they are expected to achieve
- Lead in regular planning and reflection sessions with the relevant program officers to ensure best practices are being followed and that adjustments are being made based on monitoring and evaluating the results of the programs and stated goals
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Ensure information regarding program activities and beneficiaries is regularly captured, analyzed, and communicated to the Director of Programs
- Ensure monitoring and evaluation plans are designed and match individual project requirements to achieve project benchmarks.
- In coordination with the Director of Programs, adjust and improve programs and long-term planning based on data and analysis.
External Relations
- Assist in coordinating all of the logistical arrangements and developing appropriate agendas
Financial Management
- Ensure that the programs operate within the approved budget.
- In cooperation with the Finance and Administrative Officer, monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to the Director of programs on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly).
- Support in the creation and management of annual program operating budgets.

Required Qualifications
- BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience as Program Coordinator or a relevant position preferable in an NGO environment
- Knowledge of program management and development procedures
- Knowledge of budgeting, bookkeeping and reporting
- Tech savvy, proficient in MS Office
- Ability to work with diversity and multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and efficient
Desired Qualifications
• Experience working for a nonprofit and/or an international organization that has multiple locations.
