Main Purpose
Reporting to Logistics Specialist – ICT, the incumbent will be responsible for **-**Executing the maintenance, follow-up and monitoring of all IT and Telecom equipment, tools and services, as well as ensuring onsite technical support and training of users under his/her responsibility in accordance with MSF standards, policies, protocols and procedures, in order to guarantee the efficient use of all IT and Telecom services and infrastructure.
Specific accountabilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for troubleshoot software, hardware and network malfunctions at desk 6 offices, Kenya office and Kenya office facilities.
- Ensuring network availability (CCTV, Servers and storage systems), Internet service, firewalls, and telephone systems.
- Ensure efficient internet connectivity, sufficient bandwidth and internet backup.
- Perform ICT briefings to new staff and familiarize the new staff to IT fixtures and systems.,preparing briefings/debriefings schedule for MSF OCA desk if required
- Provide technical support for staff in the use of computers, NAS, printers/scanners, software, sharepoint, onedrive, servers/tools and other communication equipment
- Ensure computer security, antivirus and Microsoft updates on operating systems and office applications.
- Responsible for installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, scanners and smart phones.
- Perform routine PC preventive maintenance and updates for performance efficiency by periodically carrying out computers health checks.
- Training staff on ad hoc basis on the various relevant ICT applications, tools and equipment.
- Ensure sufficient stock of IT related consumables and ICT contingency stock.
- Keep inventory of all IT and communication equipment and proper documentation regarding issuance of IT equipment and phones
- Make sure all IT equipment are protected from electrical spikes (over voltage and under voltage).
- Advise supply department appropriately on issues regarding procurement of IT equipment.
- Familiarize desk 6, Kenya office staff and visitors to ICT policies.
Requirements
Education
- Degree in Computer Science or Diploma in ICT
Experience
- 2 years of proven experience in IT or technical functions,
Languages
- Fluent in English and Kiswahili essential
Knowledge Required
Competence
- Expertise in latest version of Microsoft Operating System and business applications (Office365)
- Good knowledge of computer hardware and maintenance processes, network theory and their respective protocols, main email systems, IT security best practices and IT service management tools (ITSM)
- Understanding in Server Management (latest version of Microsoft Operating System, Active directory) and virtualization (Hyper-V)
- Understanding of radio telecommunication concepts (HF, VHF, GSM, Satellite)
- Teaching and supporting skills
