Algeria Telecom has launched a digital survey to identify zones still lacking access to its fiber optic network. The company is calling on neighborhood committees to provide key details about their localities, including names, household numbers, and GPS coordinates. The submission window is open until July 31, 2025.
The information gathered will guide Algeria Telecom’s 2026 action plan, helping it prioritize areas that remain outside the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network. This public engagement complements the operator’s broader efforts to extend high-speed internet access to more households.
In October 2024, authorities announced that over 1.5 million households were already connected to the national FTTH infrastructure. As part of its expansion strategy, Algeria Telecom is also collaborating with local entrepreneurs to reach areas typically underserved by major providers.
This initiative is designed to reduce the digital divide across the country by expanding fiber coverage and improving internet availability for residents in remote or overlooked zones.
