Skudu, a South African agritech startup, has recently raised funding from AgVentures, an agrifood tech investor, to become Africa’s leading online market for agricultural inputs and products.
Skudu Platform significantly reduces the agricultural value chain.
Also to increase user choice by linking both buyers and sellers directly.
The platform as well helps farmers to improve their input planning and efficiency.
The CEO of Skudu, Cobus van der Merwe, commented on the partnership,
“With its deep agri-industry and technology expertise, we are excited to partner with AgVentures.
Like Skudu, we want to make it easy for buyers and sellers to find each other.
Saving them money and making them more efficient”
Gerhard Visagie, CEO of AgVentures, explains why they have chosen to partner with the agri-tech start-up.
“We were attracted to Skudu because of their highly experienced management team, ambitious plans and traction over a short period of time.”
They also believe that the start-up brings much-needed creativity, with potential continental expansion on the table, to the South African agro-food market.
