Kwikspace supplies two units that now serve as COVID-19 Testing Stations on the Komatipoort border

Kwikspace, Africa’s largest supplier of prefabricated buildings, has supplied Msanda Labrotories with two permanent units at the Komatipoort border between South Africa and Mozambique that will serve as COVID-19 testing stations for travellers.

Msanda Laboratories have several facilities situated in and around Johannesburg to provide fast and reliable pathology tests. Seeking to upgrade its testing station at the Komatipoort Border, Msanda Laboratories purchased two prefabricated buildings from Kwikspace, to achieve a Kwik, weatherproof, and luxurious replacement for their gazebo structures, in November 2021.

The first unit compromises testing cubicles, while the second houses a pay station, boardroom for personnel and further testing stations. Upon special request by Msanda Laboratories, Kwikspace customised the units, painting the unit boards to match the lab’s corporate colours. The customer then painted business profile-compliant designs on the units and included advanced internal finishes with the assistance of sub-contracted designer, Mr Jackelope Signage & Branding.

“Due to the customisability and flexibility of Kwikspace units, travellers now have access to accurate and confidential testing and results in an aesthetically pleasing environment that is almost unrecognisable as a container” Monique Hefer, Sales Co-Ordinator at Kwikspace.

The order for the first unit was received in September 2021, which was later extended with the addition of the second unit. Once the Interior Designer, Mr Jackelope completed their project, Kwikspace delivered the customised units in November 2021.
