Adji Bousso Dieng is a Senegal-born artificial intelligence and machine, learning expert.

Her love for school and talent in STEM drives her passion to give young Africans the inspiring examples she missed out on when she was faced with a dearth of career role models earlier on in her life.

She recently launched her website “The Africa I Know”, which showcases successful African professionals leveraging technology to solve developmental problems –in agriculture, health, and education while on a mission to inspire, inform and educate African youth.

Her notable impact, professional prowess as an assistant professor, and contributions to the field of generative modeling have earned her a milestone appointment as Princeton’s School of Engineering’s first Black female faculty member at the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS).

Speaking of her latest appointment, Ms. Dieng said, “I never had a Black lecturer since I left Senegal, so I really understand how they feel,” she said. “I’ll be making sure that I admit students from everywhere, that they see representation.”
